Not every student who walks through your doors will stay, that is one of the realities of owning a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy. When you run a WORLD CLASS martial arts gym even less stay! I teach Brazilian Jiu Jitsu because I love helping people, especially children. I try to connect with each person who enters the Lucas Lepri Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Knoxville academy as soon as I can. I genuinely want them to love BJJ and learn all of the benefits that come from training. When they join and become an official student I get even more attached and am dedicated to helping the achieve any reasonable goals they set! I will do ANYTHING to help them as most of my students can attest!
I reposted this picture a couple days ago when Facebook sent me a "memory". This picture was taken one year ago at our old facility. While most of the people in this picture still train at our academy there are a few that I have not seen in a while. Often when I get these memories from FB I notice people who are no longer on the mats with us each week. I MISS THOSE PEOPLE! I am reminded of how I want to help them learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and reach their goals. Jiu Jitsu is not an easy sport to begin with and life is always throwing obstacles our way. The things that require time, dedication and hard work are normally the things we postpone or give up when these obstacles arise. I know many times their plans are to return when life slows down or becomes a little less hectic but it is way too easy to say tomorrow, then next week, next month and before you know it, years have passed.
The gym we have built is not about the money, I have yet to take a paycheck form the gym and I never let money get in the way of someone training, it is about the people! I love the relationships that are built through Jiu Jitsu. I love watching students work hard and finally hit that one submission or sweep! I love to watch them all grow both on the mat and in their personal lives. I choose to invest a lot of myself into every person who walks through the doors of Lucas Lepri Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Knoxville TN and I MISS those that stray from the path of getting better at Jiu Jitsu and improving their lives!
If you have strayed from training I am willing to help you any way that I can. Your teammates miss you and your instructor misses you. No matter what the reason for your absence is!
